Good news/Bad news

Good news: I am about ready to send my revised YA manuscript off to my editor. It feels like all I've done for the past month is work on this book. I hope I can share more about this project soon - I don't even have a title yet.

Bad news: I still worry it's not good enough. I've never been this worried about a book before, and I'm not sure what that means exactly.

Good news: I had a fabulous time on a writing retreat this past weekend in Midway, Utah. It is so beautiful there, and these ladies are so fun to hang out with. From left to right, top to bottom, Irene Latham, Rachel Hawkins, Emily Wing Smith, Mr. Moose, Lindsey Leavitt and me.

Bad news: It was like the calm before the storm. Last night the dog hurt her leg running down the stairs and I have to take her in for an x-ray today. Freshman son wants to go out for track and I just learned he has to have a physical before he can start practice next Monday. I have to have some dental work done tomorrow. And I swore I'd get started on taxes this week. I hope our bank account survives all the madness. And me too, of course.

Good news: Some exciting news is in the works.

Bad news: I can't say anything about it yet.
I've missed you all! Hope everyone is doing well.

I wondered how you were doing. Sending good thoughts re: your novel and your busy schedule--and excited to hear your exciting news!

Thanks Jeni! It seems the novel is in good shape and off to copy-edits. Whew! And the dog has a partially torn ligament, rather than a full, which would have required surgery. Double whew. Still, $375 later... Ugh!

Oooooh, exciting news in the works? My interest is definitely piqued. :)

And I'm glad you had fun here in Utah! It's the best. And isn't Emily so stinkin' fun? I love her.

Good luck with your novel!

Good to hear from you Lisa, I've missed you too! I like your good news, and the bad news isn't really all *that* bad, although I hope your dog is okay and fitting that physical in for track isn't too time-consuming. Congrats on finishing your revisions! I hope that if they need more revising you're able to get great specifics to help you out.

I think maybe worrying so much about your book means it's going to be your best yet! :)

Physical is scheduled for Monday morning. Practice starts Monday afternoon. Whew. Stormy has a partially torn ligament in her knee, which is better than a full tear, as that would require surgery. No walking her for at least two weeks, which is going to make her very sad. As for the book, we shall see, today I'm just feeling so thankful that the hardest work on that one is behind me!

Hope all is well with you!!

Thanks, Lisa. I am doing pretty well. A little overwhelmed this week, learning how to deal with that. :) Writing is happening, yay! That newsletter gig I mentioned to you when we met fell through, which was a bummer. I think it will turn out to be for the better, though, as it won't be there to distract me from writing a book.

March looks busy, maybe we can get together for tea or coffee in April, after Spring Break?

And I'm glad your Stormy won't need surgery! :)

Great photo. And hooray for the good news! And I will hope that your poor doggie is okay, since that actually sounds like the worst of the bad news (to me - perhaps the dental work is worse than it sounds, though).

Hi Kelly! Thanks, yes, Stormy was my biggest worry yesterday. Thankfully, it's a partial tear in a ligament, not a full, so no surgery. Hopefully. For the next two weeks we try to get her to rest as much as possible and see where we're at. She loves her walks, so it's not going to be very fun for her, but I'm thankful it isn't worse.

Today I go to the dentist for a temporary crown, hoping that fixes the problem. If not, root canal for me. Blah.

Exciting news???? Hope it's wonderful. Can't wait to hear.
Hope your poor doggie is OK.
Congrats on finishing the Ms.

Thanks on the congrats! Stormy has a partially torn ligament in her knee, so she is on a strict schedule of rest, rest and more rest for the next two weeks as we try to get it to heal.

I'm glad to read in these comments that things with Stormy are going to be okay.

I'm also thrilled that your novel is off to copy edits. YAY! Congrats on it (I look forward to reading).

I hope you can share your exciting news soon!!

(hugs) for the dental work (I hate going to the dentist) and hope you don't have to have a root canal.

Taxes stink! I'm trying to get ours together for the accountant . . . well, I'm supposed to be doing that but I'm playing online instead. ;-)

Thanks for your kind words!

I may have to have a root canal. We have a temporary crown on there now, to see if it calms things down, but I don't think it is. I just hate teeth stuff SO much. I want my young, healthy teeth back, and the chance to be better about brushing as a kid. Argh.

Okay, back to the taxes.
